What Are the Advantages of Using Amazon FBA Packaging Services?

Amazon sellers aren’t going to accept any shipment containing anything and mail it out. Customers that use the Amazon FBA packaging service must use certain packaging.

Think about the benefits, how simple it is, and how useful it will be for you to learn this.

  • Products that have not been improperly packed may be damaged during delivery.
  • Items that are incorrectly labeled are more likely to be misplaced or mixed up.
  • Products that come in multiple packages waste resources and destroy the environment.
  • Your company’s image may suffer as a result of poor packaging.

Aren’t these all valid points?

Amazon takes its Amazon FBA packaging service requirements very seriously, and merchants who do not follow them risk being fined.

For example, Amazon may dispose of your items and even refuse to accept future shipments to its fulfillment center, which are not exactly the components of a successful company plan.

Improperly labeled items may be judged unsellable, resulting in a non-compliance fee. This isn’t a favorable condition.

Amazon FBA Packaging Requirements

Amazon fulfillment hubs are required to follow certain criteria when it comes to Amazon FBA packaging services. Noncompliance might result in additional fees or rejection.

Certain types of packing materials are permitted under Amazon’s rules. Packaging materials such as air cushions, bubble wrap, polythene sheeting, and paper sheets, for example, are all suitable. Certain packing materials, on the other hand, should be avoided.

General Packing Guidelines
  • Only utilize a single stock-keeping unit from the fulfillment network. This Amazon-specific keyword is used to identify and monitor goods. Furthermore, the FNSKU should only be used for one product and one product alone.
  • Each unit should have a readable and scanable barcode.
  • All items should come fully assembled at the Amazon warehouse.
  • All goods should be packaged in separate, secure packaging.
  • For goods sold as a set, labels are required.

Boxed Amazon Fba packaging Requirements

  • Only 6-sided boxes are permitted on Amazon.
  • The box’s opening should be secured.
  • The box should be able to resist medium pressure. This is critical, particularly during storage.
Poly-Bagged Parcel Requirements
  • Individual goods may be secured using polybags if they follow the Amazon FBA packaging requirements.
  • Suffocation warnings should be included on polybags with holes of 5 inches or greater.
  • Polybags must be sealed, clear, and at least 1.5 mm thick.
  • Polybags cannot extend more than 3 inches beyond the goods they contain.
Case-Packed Item Requirements
  • The FBA FNSKU for all items in the case must be the same.
  • Each case is limited to 150 pieces.
  • Smaller cases may be grouped together inside bigger boxes.
Handling expiration-dated products
  • Expiration dates must be labeled on all units. The master box should also have the same date.
  • Regardless of the Amazon FBA packaging material, the expiration date should be readable.
  • Expiration dates should be formatted as MM-DD-YY
Amazon FBA Restrictions

Sellers on Amazon who use the FBA packing service may add individual products or their whole catalog to the program. Not all goods are viable for FBA, notwithstanding. Several items are limited on the platform, including:

  • Gift Certificates / Store Credit
  • Alcoholic Drinks
  • Unauthorized marketing materials
  • Products that have been damaged (unless stated)
  • Tires
  • Improperly made goods

In general, Amazon has the ability to decide whether or not a product is prohibited. Rejected items are either returned or disposed of as soon as possible.

Packing Materials That Aren’t Acceptable

Packing peanuts is not a permissible packing material for Amazon FBA packaging services. You’ll also run into problems if you include shredded paper as packing material in your package; Amazon will refuse it.

Finally, foam strips and Styrofoam are unacceptable under Amazon’s rules. Another kind of packaging material that is banned is crinkle wrap.

Amazon FBA packaging service requirements include all the information provided here; however, keep in mind that Amazon packaging requirements have their own label requirements.

For a registered merchant, it’s easy to label products. Setting up your Amazon Seller Central account generates labels for your shipment; it will do this since the account will auto-generate a label for every shipment that you start creating.

It must be printed and then pasted with care. Individual boxes receive tags when using Amazon’s labeling system. But they all receive labels for visual clarity. Even big containers and boxes. For bulk deliveries, pallets and boxes all have a second sticker to identify them.

Amazon Fba packaging service Checklist

If you’re unsure how to ship to Amazon FBA packaging while maintaining flawless product packaging, here’s a checklist to help:

  • Always use a box that is solid, six-sided, and has all of the flaps intact.
  • Use a single address label and double-check that it includes all delivery and return information.
  • Double-check that all of the boxes have separate FBA shipping labels printed with Shipping Queue.
  • Each pallet must have four labels, one on the top center of each side and one on the bottom center of each side. If you’re sending several case packs in a single carton, ensure that the master carton has unique shipping information.
  • If you’re reusing any of the boxes, remember to erase any previous marks and shipping labels.
  • Separately wrap all of the goods you wish to send.
  • Make sure you have enough packing paper and sturdy tape intended for shipping.
  • Make sure there is at least a two-inch cushioning layer between the goods placed in a box.
  • After the packing is complete, shake the box to ensure the contents do not move with jerks.
  • Boxes with dimensions of 6” x 4” x 1” and a minimum weight of 1 pound are recommended.
